PBS Teacherline: Comparing Mixtures
This is a fun activity that comes with an applet (REQUIRES SHOCKWAVE PLAYER). An online worksheet is provide, giving instructions on mixing two separate sets of orange juice concentrate, and using the applet to simulate the mixing the concentrate and water. Users then have to decide which one taste more "orangey" based on the mixtures they performed. Great connection to real world ideas.
ExploreLearning: Beam to Moon (Ratios and Proportions)
This activity has the user enter their weight, and then drop one of the items from the side bar into the unused scale. Then take that same item and drag it into the corresponding scale on the Moon (or other planet) to find out the ratio. Use this proportion to find the user's weight on the Moon (or other planet). Use the Beam Away button to check your answer.
