Purpose of Best Practices Cohort
To scale up the statewide use of accessible educational materials and accessible technologies for learning by monitoring, analyzing, documenting, and sharing the impact of current work in five high-leverage areas of change:
  1. Procurement considerations
  2. Strategies for use of AEM and accessible technologies for learning
  3. Self-advocacy skills of students (Florida focus area)
  4. Provision system development
  5. Data system development

Each state has chosen at least one high-leverage area to focus on. Florida will be focusing on self-advocacy skills, in particular student self-advocacy for accessible instructional materials and accessible technologies in the classroom, during IEP meetings, and in preparation for post secondary settings.
