FIMC-VI is the Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired. We provide braille, large print, and audio textbooks and other instructional materials for all of Florida's students who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. We also monitor the braille version of the FCAT, and provide professional development for teachers of the visually impaired, parents, and others who work with this unique group of ESE students.

NIMAS/Florida is also housed at FIMC-VI, who has been designated as Florida's NIMAS authorized user (AU). As such, FIMC manages the NIMAS student registration database, provides training on the use of the database, and requests the digital files from the NIMAC for conversion into student ready files..
